Description

Backworth, Northumberland born right-handed batsman James Ord began his career in County cricket with Warwickshire in 1933, however it was interrupted substantially by the Second World War. After the War he continued to play for the County until 1953, and in total played 273 first class matches across the twenty year span. In those matches Ord scored 11,788 runs at an average of 27.80, scoring 16 centuries and 57 half centuries with a best score of 187 not out. He bowled occasionally right arm medium pace and took 2 first class wickets, also taking 78 catches in first class play. He received a benefit from the County in 1950.
