Description
Stratford Court, Stroud, Gloucestershire born right-hand batsman Richard Godsell was educated at Clifton College before going up to Trinity College, Cambridge University, for whom he made his first class debut in his final year, winning his Blue in 1903. He went on to play for Gloucestershire until 1910, playing in total 61 first class matches, scoring a single century of 111 runs among 1,492 runs scored at an average of 13.56, taking 24 catches in first class play.
During the First World War he served as a Lieutenant in the Royal Army Service Corps from 1914 to 1919.
